Using PS CS2, we'll be making
. This tutorial is translatable only to other PS programs.01 Start with your base. Here's my base.
02 Make a new Selective Color adjustment layer, and input these values:
Reds: -100 100 100 100
Yellows: 0 35 100 100
Cyans: 100 0 0 100
Blacks: 100 100 100 25
03 Make a new Selective Color adjustment layer, and input these values:
Reds: -100 30 -20 10
Cyans: 100 100 0 30
Neutrals: 100 25 0 -50
04 Make a new Color Balance adjustment layer, and input these settings:
Midtones: 50 25 20
Shadows: -40 0 0
05 Make a new Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment layer, and set master saturation to 15.
06 Make a new Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer, and set brightness to -5 and contrast to 10.
07 Paste this texture (by me) and set it to lighten 100%.
08 Paste this heart brush (by ?) and set it to multiply 65%.
09 Duplicate the heart brush and invert it (Image > Adjustments > Invert). Drag it below the original heart. Move it around a few pixels so you form a white shadow behind the original heart.
10 I went to PSP10 and used the Ellipse Tool (the tool to make a circle, not a selection!) to make a circle. I then used the selection tool (after I made the circle layer a raster layer) to cut the circle until I got the crescent strip.
11 Make a new Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer, and set brightness to 10.
I'd love to see what you guys come up with, so please post your results! Hope this tutorial helped :)
