I'm gonna steal borrow inquisitory's idea and post multiple tutorials in one post :D A lot of my Reborn! icons had tutorials requested of them, and they all basically use the same coloring, so~ :D

Request by minrathous and dragonsquee.

Using PS CS, we'll be making and some more xD This tutorial is translatable only to other PS programs.

The icons this tutorial covers are:
is A, is B, is C, is D, is E, is F.

01 Start with your base: A B C D E F

OKAY HERE WE GO, READY? It might be confusing from here on, but I'll try to be helpful ;o; I'll list which icons had any changes in a step. If there isn't any icon listed, that means all 6 icons used the same settings.

02 Make a new layer and fill it with #040A27. Set it to exclusion 70%.
03 Make a new Selective Color adjustment layer, and input these values:
     Reds: -100 0 0 25
     Yellows: 0 10 -35 -25
     Neutrals: 45 0 0 -30
04 Make a new Selective Color adjustment layer, and input these values:
     Reds: 100 0 0 0
A did not use this step.
05 Make a new Selective Color adjustment layer, and input these values:
     Reds: 20 0 0 0
     A, B, C, D, and F did not use this step.
06 Make a new Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment layer, and set master saturation to 45.
07 Make a new layer and fill it with #B2FAFB. Set it to color burn 15%.
     A, B, C, D, and F did not use this step.
08 Make a new layer and fill it with #E8B1B1. Set it to softlight 100%.
09 At this point, this texture (by me) was used at lighten 100% for A, B, and C. It was blurred and re-colored to fit the icons. For F, this texture (by hellodarliing) was used at lighten 100%. D and E did not use any textures.
10 Make a new Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer, and set brightness to -10 and contrast to 10.
11 Make a new Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment layer, and set master saturation to 25.
12 At this point, A, B, C, and D used a red glow-dot layer, set to lighten 100% and blurred to various extents.
13 Paste this texture (by me) and set it to softlight 100%.
E had this texture set to softlight 25%.
14 Make a new Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer, and set brightness to -6 and contrast to 6.
     A was set to -4/4.

END OF TUTORIAL FOR A, B, C, and E.

The following is for D only.
15 Make a new layer and fill it with #FFFFFF. Set it to screen 100%, and use the eraser tool to make a shadow.
16 Make a new Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer, and set brightness to -6 and contrast to 6.

The following is for F only.
15 Duplicate your base and bring it to the top. Set the layer to softlight 65%.
16 Make a new Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment layer, and set master saturation to 20.

Here's what I'd normally do but with your filters the coloring is much more vibrant!

Do you also color the manga images yourself? Because I love the overall coloring of the icons, but I'm not all that savy on coloring-in the manga scans and never even have a base to start with. :p Have you ever done any manga-coloring tuts?

Yup, I always color my own bases (the last icon is an actual Amano image, though). I haven't done any coloring tutorials; I've tried writing one but it was too complicated so I gave up. I have a new, flatter, coloring style now so I don't know if I should even make a tutorial now, but if you so request it, I may be able to write it up sometime :)

Yah, I can imagine it being tedious and annoying. lol.
But if you don't mind, I'll see any you have now! If anything, it can be something for me to build up on. :)
